Hello, I am David Salk, founder of eClips. I’ve been an optician my entire professional life and own a high end practice in Berkeley, CA - The Focal Point.

I have always enjoyed mathematics and optics, and have a passion for lens designs and the science behind them.

I was the inventor of the first rimless custom clip (patented), perfecting the use of memory metal for use in rimless clips, and compression mounts to attach clip-on lenses. I collaborated with Larry Leight to design flip up clips for Oliver Peoples, and wrote software to automate the procedures for drilling our clip lenses.

Besides optics, my other interests are time with my wonderful family, friends and music…I perform with “Rock4Sight”

Although eClips have been around for a while, we NEVER stop our efforts to grow, to expand our technology and offer new products that can improve your vision. With that in mind, we creted products such as Blue Logic 365 Lenses™ – a superior blue light filter, addressing blue light problems day and night, indoors and out.

We believe eClips are the perfect vehicle to provide the BEST blue light protection, without the use of highly reflective coatings, or tints that must be worn all of the time. Users will continue to experience the adverse effects of electronic devices on vision and sleep cycles – and eClips has affordable options to address these issues. 

We will continue to offer our custom rimless sunglass clip-ons unique designs and lens options. To those who have supported us over the years, our sincere gratitude.
